People ask me all the time what to expect for your first appointment. I usually explain the whole process as your sitting in my chair, but I thought I might write it down.
*Don't be nervous.
-Yeah, I know how that sounds but it really just makes things worse. The more nervous you are, the more detail about the tattoo you'll forget to mention. Or even worse, a change of date or name. Just know walking into the shop that I'm a professional and will treat you the same regardless of how many times you've sat in my chair.
*Bring things that make you comfortable.
-I encourage a small blanket or a pillow. My chair is made for me to tattoo on, not to be comfortable while doing so. Headphones, tablets and cell phones are all accepted.
*Remember the experience.
-Usually I have a great conversation with each person in my chair so also remember to be in the moment. You are paying for it after all.
*Tattoos feel like a sunburn and a cat scratch.
-It's annoying but bearable. Please remember the more still/calm you are, the better I'll be able to tattoo.
*Tips are appreciated.
-You're spending money on something that will last a lifetime. If the service was good and you got what you wanted, any amount is a good one. I work hard for each tattoo, usually spending hours on each design (or the program used to make it) and it's a great feeling getting a little extra for going a little extra.
Hope that helps!
